The Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, NE has just announced another exciting season of performances. This can be found @ www.liedcenter.org. Below are a few performances that I would be interested in taking a group of students to. The ticket price for students is about half of the regular price! If you are interested in any of these shows, please let me know!
Sweeney Todd Friday, September 26. Glenn Miller Orchestra Tuesday, October 7. Holiday with Canadian Brass Saturday, December 6. There are others, if you see one you like, let me know and we'll see if we can't get there!
"The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band Concerto Competition
The U.S. Marine Band, in conjunction with the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and The National Association for Music Education, is pleased to announce its inaugural concerto competition for high school musicians. The winner will appear as a guest soloist with the U.S. Marine Band and receive a $2500 cash prize from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. For more information go to www.marineband.usmc.mil.

-Congratulations to NILE L. on making the 2008 Wayne State College Symphonic Honor Band!!! The honor band will take place on Saturday, January 26th at WSC with a final performance at 4:30 PM!
-The Christmas concert really was amazing! Thank you all for your hard work, I hope you enjoy your time off....but keep practicing, because contest is just around the corner!!!

-Great job Pep Band in your support of the volleyball team!!! It was two long, late nights...but you performed very well!
-(10th-12th) Doane Honor and Festival Bands: ***RESULTS ARE IN*** ---Congratulations to Anna B. and Trevor H. for making the Doane Festival Band!!! Also to Zack B. for being chosen as an alternate. The Doane Honor Bands will take place on Saturday, November 10th at Doane College.
